The HTC Thunderbolt is now official. There have been so many rumors for a good few months that the announcement of this phone has been particularly keenly awaited.
Not all the detailed specs are out yet, but you can expect those very soon. However, the following has been officially announced:
- – HTC Sense 2.0 will be included
4G LTE Support
– Skype mobile™ with video
– 1GHz Snapdragon processor
– 4.3” WVGA display
– Dolby surround sound supported
– 8-megapixel camera and HD video recording
– Wireless DLNA capability.
That may not be quite as high a specification as some had heralded in the unofficial pre-release talk, but it will be pretty mouth watering to most of those pocket watching but keen phone fans.
This means that Verizon Wireless customers will enjoy the premium HTC Sense user experience, running on the Android 2.2 platform. Creating and consuming mobile multimedia content will be made possible with a gorgeous looking 4.3-inch WVGA display. Then also don’t forget the Dolby surround sound, 8-megapixel camera and HD video recording capability as well.
The HTC Thunderbolt concept has been leaked, quite possibly by the Taiwan-based manufacturer themselves, over the last couple of days. And this handset will be the first 4G LTE device to arrive on Verizon’s shelves after its current unveiling at CES.
The HTC Thunderbolt looks very like the Evo 4G phone device on Sprint and it will be supported by the 4G LTE network of the mobile carrier. This phone will not use the WiMax 4G network though.
We think when we look back in a while we will see that the HTC Thunderbolt will have become the smartphone which initiated the next race for speed.
Along with the large 4.3 inch display the HTC Thunderbolt 4G, touchscreen, comes with the best features like that of a front mounted camera having five megapixels and an additional rear eight megapixel sensor.
Along with these top features this smartphone, is being described as the best to use and largest wireless communication gadget avialable in the United States.
Verizon will be hoping that it will prove to be it the best smartphone to buy this year 2011.
A lot of development work has gone into its design. It looks capable of taking quite a few knocks, thanks to the materials used to build it, and the LTE 4G logo on the back of verizon version of the device will no doubt become part of a coveted object, just like the iPhone is iconic.
The 8MP camera is thought to include a dual-LED flash and there’s even a kickstand on the back.
The HTC Thunderbolt is in the same product lineage as the HTC Evo 4G on Sprintand like the iPhone it has no physical keyboard.
