Hyundai is redefining the automotive industry and word on the street is the 2011 Hyundai Elantra will strike fear into the compact car segment leaders Honda and Toyota. For 2011, Hyundai is changing the image of the Elantra around in the U.S., giving the small car big style that appears to be largely borrowed from its big brother the 2011 Sonata. Known domestically as the Avante, the new sedan follows closely in the automaker’s more shapely style language recently introduced in the all-new Sonata both inside and out.
The 2011 Hyundai Elantra is powered by the company’s new 1.6L Gamma Gasoline Direct Injection engine that develops 140 PS and 17.0kg/m of torque. the engine is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a front wheel drive system. Hyundai claims the new Elantra is 10% more fuel efficient in comparison to its direct competitors.
The equipment list for the 2011 Hyundai Elantra includes HID (high intensity discharge) headlamps, LED combination lamps in the rear, heated rear seats, puddle lamps and a color TFT LCD informatin display.
The 2011 Hyundai Elantra is the best value in the compact segment. If the big brother Sonata is any indication of the success of the new Elantra, then Hyundai has done it again.
