Hansgrohe AG, the number one maker of lavatory fittings and showerheads, was credited for its leading edge designs at the Construction Week Awards 2011, held at The Westin in Dubai last month. The Etihad Towers project, for which Hansgrohe supplied its Focus S mixers, a selection of wash basin, bath tub and shower mixers known for its simple, elegant design and functionality, got awarded GCC Tower Project of the year.
In addition, Axor, the designer type of Hansgrohe AG, will be presented with the prestigious 2012 German Design Award in Gold in Feb 2012. The prize will be awarded for the Axor Bouroullec collection mixers, designed for Axor by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.

Having received its premier prize for design in 1974, Hansgrohe AG has recently gained one or two hundred awards and accolades. This year, the global lavatory fittings and showerheads manufacturer has managed to reaffirm its position and soar to number eleven among the 1,900 corporations mentioned on the International Forum Design company rankings.
Major design and rising demand
For Hansgrohe, good design is never complete – as an alternative it simply fulfils its purpose. 2010 was a record year for Hansgrohe, and requirement for products from Schiltach carries on growing, whilst turnover is increasing both in Germany and abroad.
Hansgrohe has been awarded numerous awards, with the trophy collection of the globally successful SME having grown to 373 prizes this year, confirming the outstanding design talents of the company and its creative partners.
The silver award of the “Design Award of the Fed. Republic of Germany” went to Hansgrohe AG for the second time in a row in 2011. From the rough 1,500 products nominated for one of the 25 “Prizes of Prizes”, the jury decided on the wall-mounted wash basin from the Axor Urquiola collection.
